Arvil Aaron Cox, 80, of Mabelvale went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 23, 2026. He was born May 29, 1946, in Humphrey, Arkansas to the late Wesley O. and Sarah B. (Warner) Cox. Arvil attended Badgett Elementary in Little Rock and Fuller High School where he graduated in May of 1964. Upon graduation, Arvil enlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard. In November of 1990 his unit was activated, and he was deployed to assist in Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Cox retired in 2006 after thirty-eight years of honorable and dedicated service. Arvil enjoyed the comradery and fellowship with his fellow soldiers and had a deep love for his country. Mr. Cox was a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.
Arvil was a man of strong moral character. His love of his country may have only been shadowed by his love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his love for his family. A jokester at heart, he always loved sharing a good laugh and making memories with those he loved. Fueled by a passion for American muscle cars, he had an innate mechanical mind, and he could fix or build anything he set his mind to. His big heart and generous nature will always be remembered by anyone who was privileged to have known him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and dedicated wife of thirty years, Pamela Grant; daughter, Marsha Smith (Ricky) of De Queen; son, Terry Cox of De Queen; and sister, Julia Reed of Searcy. Other survivors include five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm, Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 2:00pm.
