Barbara Buonvino

Barbara, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Scott, Arkansas, on August 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 13, 1950, in Newark, New Jersey, Barbara was the daughter of Paul Andrew Newsome and Hilda Newsome (Ashton). She grew up in the Newark area and later lived in Kearny, East Orange, and Old Bridge, New Jersey. She graduated from Madison Township High School.

Barbara was a loving wife and devoted mother whose strength, support, and humor shaped her family’s life. She raised four children—Jason, Justin, Jameson, and Jonathan Buonvino—and was always ready to offer guidance, affection, and a hearty laugh. Known fondly as “Old School” for her strong-willed, traditional ways, she cherished family gatherings and brought warmth and joy to every holiday and celebration.

Barbara embraced life through travel, living in Germany and England for several years, exploring Europe, taking cruises with her sister Carolyn, and visiting the beaches and mountains of North Carolina and Washington State. Wherever she went, she brought the enduring love, generosity, and sense of humor that could light up any room.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Mark; her children, Jason, Justin, Jameson, and Jonathan; her grandchildren, Joshua, Tiffany, Jordan, and Jacob; her great-granddaughter, Jade; and her sister, Carolyn. She will also be deeply missed by her nephews, great-niece, and many friends.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Jason’s residence in Scott, Arkansas, on September 13, 2026. Her family will announce the date, time, and location of an additional celebration when those details are available.
