

Buck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a well-loved man who would do anything for anyone. Buck was a volunteer Fire Chief at the Collegeville Fire Department for 25 years. He also worked for MHC Kenworth as a Diesel Mechanic for 30 years before retiring. Buck was a fix anything kind of guy, and would help all his friends fix whatever was needed. He enjoyed tinkering around in his shop. Buck was an avid racecar fan! He was well known in the racing community as a dirt track racer for over 50 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Herndon; son, James (Michelle) Herndon; daughters: Anita Hampton and Tammy (David) Bienick; grandchildren: Brandon (Nicole) Herndon, Ashley (Austin) Humbard, Caroline (Gabby) Hampton, Casey Hampton, Jeremy (Elaine) Bienick, and Paige Bienick; great grandchildren: Briley, Cale, Vanessa and one on the way, AJ; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Katie Herndon and 3 sisters.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at Pinecrest Funeral Home with a visitation being held one hour prior starting at 9:00 am.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Herndon, Brandon Herndon, Jeremy Bienick, Austin Humbard, Bobby Herndon, and Kevin Swaims.
