

Catherine T. Parker (nee Moran) 86 died November 29, 2023. She resided in Alexander, Arkansas with her husband Lynn A. Parker & her son Francis Laity. Catherine was born November 17, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. She raised 5 biological and 3 stepchildren primarily in Aurora, IL. She enjoyed camping, baking, Canasta, and taking care of her family. She and her husband enjoyed their early retirement in Sandwich, IL.
When Catherine was younger, she was a Philadelphia Telephone Operator and graduated from Coughlin High School. She worked part-time in sewing factories while starting a family. In 1969 she began a career at Furnas Electric/Siemens, Batavia IL until retiring as a Purchasing Coordinator. Published Poet & accomplished Artist. Member of Saline County Poets' Round Table of AR & State Rep. Her portfolio of work, both written and painted, are award winning. She was also a talented singer, actor, and musician, having taught herself to play the piano.
Catherine was a fun-loving person who tried to bring extended family together whenever she could. She is survived by her husband Lynn A. Parker. Children Catherine Evans (Larry), Patrick (Trisha) Laity, Francis Laity, Charles Laity Jr., Mary (Mike) Falk, Steve (Kristen) Parker, David Parker, and Julie (Mike) Griffiths. Her sisters Mary, Julia & Nora, and their families. A blended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
