Clark Gable Jordan, our cherished father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on January 30, 1949, in Hamburg, Arkansas, the son of John Willie and Naomi Annis Stanley Jordan. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, along with twelve brothers and sisters. He married Joyce Ann Cole Jordan, on July 2, 1967, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and love. They were blessed with two daughters, Tabitha and Christy.
Clark proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he enjoyed a long career with Union Pacific Railroad. He was a hardworking and dependable man who valued responsibility and perseverance. He was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman who found joy and peace in the beauty of nature.
Clark had a lifelong love for the outdoors and enjoyed countless hunting, fishing, and camping adventures with his friends and family. He especially loved driving country roads, taking road trips, attending horse races, and enjoying good-natured games of Rook, 31, dominoes, and a little casino fun. He found tranquility on calm waters, stillness in the quiet woods, and happiness in simple moments spent with the people he loved most. Whether he was running trotlines on the Arkansas River, fishing on Lake Ouachita, sitting in a deer stand at dawn, or taking in a sunrise, sunset, or moonlit sky, Clark appreciated the peaceful rhythm of nature and the simple joys of the outdoors.
He was known for his generosity, caring nature, sense of humor, and charm. Clark had a genuine smile, a playful spirit, and a mischievous wink that could brighten any room. He loved telling tall tales and sharing stories that grew a little bigger with each retelling, keeping family and friends laughing along the way. Warm, inclusive, and quick with a joke, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His presence was a gift to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Joyce Ann Jordan; his parents, John Willie and Naomi Jordan; his brothers Billy Wilford, Dennis Roger, Randall Lavan, Jerry Lane, Johnny William, Allen Stanley, and Carl Lee; and his sisters Barbara Ann, Carrie Jane, and Norma Geraldene.
Clark is survived by his daughters, Tabitha Jordan and Christy Moore; his sons-in-law, Adam Weissman and Wesley Moore; his granddaughters, Candice, Naomi, Nova, and Alexandra; his sisters, Carolyn Sue (Farrell) and Rose Mary (Steve); and a large extended family who will miss him greatly.
We will miss him deeply and remain forever grateful for the example he set: to be grateful for what you have, love your family well, treasure your friendships, enjoy life's simple pleasures, work hard, and always find a reason to smile. His words—“It’s all good,” “It’ll be alright,” and “Think about it”—will stay with us always.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his laughter, kindness, wisdom, and love will remain with us always.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, followed immediately by a graveside service with military honors.
