She was born on October 14, 1959, to Harold and Ruby Kern. From her earliest years, Colleen was a devoted daughter and a wonderful sister. Throughout her life, she radiated love, faith, and service to all who knew her.
Colleen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished the blessings of the temple. She was sealed for time and all eternity to her eternal companion, Brian, with whom she shared 44 beautiful years of marriage. Her testimony of the Savior and her devotion to family guided every aspect of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby Kern, and by her in-laws, Glade and Annette Nielsen.
Colleen is survived by her eternal companion, Brian; her children, Jacob (Krischelle), Krista (Dustin), Jessica (Adam), and Kaleb (Glenda); and her treasured grandchildren, Makayla, Mathias, Logan, Marcellus, and Mason. She is also survived by her siblings, Paula, Kathy, Susan, Russell, and Doug, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss her.
Her heart was completely devoted to her family. Colleen loved her children and grandchildren deeply and found her greatest happiness in nurturing and teaching them. She delighted in every family gathering, every laugh shared, and every tender moment spent together. Her love was steady, patient, and unconditional.
Colleen’s life was a testament of service. She quietly blessed countless lives through her willingness to listen, comfort, and lift others. Whether serving in her ward, supporting neighbors, or offering small acts of kindness to strangers, she was always aware of those in need and quick to extend a helping hand.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, her warm smile and humor, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice in the knowledge that families are forever and that she now rests in peace, surrounded by loved ones who have gone before.
