

Crystal Evlyn Swindell, 90, of Benton, passed away February 20, 2020. Crystal was born on March 28, 1929, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; the daughter of Russell and Brunette Maynard. She and her family moved to Little Rock in 1946. Crystal married Harold Swindell on March 28, 1947. She worked for JCPenney in Little Rock stores for over 44 years, until her retirement. During her retirement years, she volunteered for the city of Little Rock at the Visitor’s Center at Curran Hall. Crystal was known to almost everyone as “Mamaw”. She was an excellent cook and well-known for her famous spaghetti and meatballs. She was always knitting baby blankets for family, extended family and beyond. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing games on her Kindle, reading and loved listening to music. She was a Breast Cancer survivor. Mamaw will be missed by us all.
Survivors include her daughter Kim Berry, son Russell Swindell (Debra), six grandchildren: Kari Lazenby (Blake), Beth Tripp (Mark), Katelyn Cameron (Joe), Russ Swindell (Bethany), CJ Cooley (Patrick), Hunter Berry (Gabie), and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Harold, both parents, her son-in-law Dennis Berry, and her two brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
