Dorothy Jean Ross, 92, of Benton (Formerly Little Rock) transitioned into her heavenly home on December 19, 2021. There to greet her were her parents, Robert Carney and Hattie McAnulty Myers, husband James (Bun) Henry Ross and son, Ronald James Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Ross Brooks (Howard), Grandchildren, Crystal Liu (Dave), Robert Brooks (Kim), and Angela McTavish (Dan), great-grandchildren, Dylan and Drew Brooks, Lucille Liu and Vivian Jean McTavish.
Dorothy was born July 26, 1929 and graduated from Little Rock (Central) High School as class valedictorian in 1946. She retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years as an executive secretary. Dorothy is a member of Mablevale United Methodist Church.
Dorothy loved to travel, dance and play bridge. Dorothy and her husband Bun visited 45 of our 50 states and were able to visit many historical sites. Dorothy loved the beach and swimming in the ocean. They enjoyed the night life and dancing and were members of several bridge clubs.
Dorothy was loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cared for her husband through 9 years of Parkinson’s disease paired with Dementia Lewy Body. She was always very involved with her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Visitation will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, with a Chapel service to follow at 2PM at Pinecrest Funeral home. Burial will follow at 3PM at Forest Hills Cemetery on 10200 HWY 5.
