Born in 1931 to Francis Floyd Dunn Sr. and Melba Orem, Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years as an Engineman. He carried his strong work ethic and quiet strength throughout his life, both in service and at home.
In 1958, Francis married the love of his life, Thelma Dunn, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Thelma; his children Pam Miller, Tammy Smith (Charles), Mary Oholendt (Bob), and Floyd Dunn III; grandchildren Charles Oholendt, Tim Oholendt, and Jerry McCormick; and great-grandchildren Sarah McCormick, Masen Oholendt, and Donavon Olem. He also leaves behind his siblings Bill Dunn, Tom Dunn, Clora Dunn, and Brenda Orem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Handley Orem, and cherished grandchildren Chris Dunn and David Dunn.
Francis found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, hunting, building model cars, planes, and ships, working on puzzles, and most of all, spending time with his family. His kind spirit, steady presence, and warm heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Arkansas. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 12:00 p.m.
In honoring his memory, the family invites all who knew and loved Francis to join them in celebrating a life well lived.
