George Garrett

George Garrett, 89, of Alexander, passed away April 10, 2017. He was born October 21, 1927 in McCroy, Arkansas to the late James and Annie Holt Garrett. He was a previous charter member of Baseline Missionary Baptist Church, and was a current member of Vimy Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years Kathryn Garrett; daughter Hester Burleson; son Larry Joe Garrett; brothers Paul and Samuel Garrett; and sisters Tersia Shelton and Lucille Garrett. He is survived by three sons Ronnie (Mary) Garrett of Griffsville, AR, D anny (Kim Bobo) Garrett of Alexander, AR, and Jimmy (Jeanne) of Bryant, AR; and daughter Joan (Donnie) Reid of Alexander, AR; 14 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandson. Services will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR, with Bro. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service, with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
