Gerald F Kirk
September 14, 1945 – October 4, 2020
Gerald Frederick Kirk, 75, of North Little Rock, AR, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. “Jerry,” as many knew him, attended Catholic High for one year, before transferring to and graduating from Central High School. Subsequently, he attended Arkansas State Teachers College. He worked as a cameraman for KATV in Little Rock, before recognizing his calling in law enforcement. Jerry spent many years as a Pulaski County Sheriff Deputy, where he retired with the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Kirk spent his retirement providing security for his residential community. He was well known for his love of and care for “strays,” feline and human alike. Jerry was also an avid reader and a lover of movies. In his latter years, he reconnected with his Catholic faith.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Reba McNutt Kirk; his father, Herbert M Kirk; his sister, Loretta Kirk Williams; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Loretta Nugent McNutt; his paternal grandparents, Frederick and Louise Rauch Kirk; and his best friend, Sheriff Carroll Gravett. He is survived by his sister, Wanda Kirk Vandiver (Mike); Bradley J Williams; Declan Kirk Williams; Holly Williams; Perry Williams, Jr; Troy Allen Kirk; and good friends, Claudia Gravett and Ali Zarabi, for whom Jerry and the family owe a special debt of gratitude for their love and care.
Arrangements were made with Pinecrest Funeral Home, and he will be interred in a mausoleum at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Per his wishes, there will not be a formal funeral. If you visited him, talked to him, and forgave him, your respect has already been paid.
