

Harold Leonard Ballentine passed away at the age of 89 on March 11th, 2025. Better known as Leonard to his friends and family, Dad to his children, and Pe-Pa to his granddaughters, he was born on January 8th, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Harold and Coye Ballentine. And was preceded in death by not only his parents, but also by two brothers Tommy and Billy, along with a daughter Sherry and son Michael. He is survived by sons James and Stewart, along with six grandchildren, Courtney,Jordan, Zachary, Stewart Wayne, Patty and Amber, great grandson Noah, brothers Earl and Larry, and sister Evelyn. As well as his very special friend Patricia Smith, who has been there for him throughout much of his later life, sharing countless meals, holidays, Murray's Dinner Playhouse shows, and just having the enjoyment of each other's company.
Leonard was a military veteran, having served in the Army as a sergeant shortly after the Korean War era. After his honorable military service, he was a career machinist, as well as a tool and dye-maker. And for over the past 55 years, has resided in the same house that he built for his family on Northlake Road.However, the one thing he was most proud of in life was indeed his large family of siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home on Monday, March 17th at 11:30AM, with a memorial service immediately following at noon. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, next to his daughter Sherry and her mother Beverly
