

Hermann was a steadfast follower of Jesus Christ. His deep spiritual conviction was the foundation of his life, a life that profoundly impacted his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He cherished the time he shared with his family, especially his four grandchildren in whose lives he was an integral and active part.
After graduating from Pine Bluff High School, Hermann earned a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and practice law for over 50 years. He served as an officer in the United States Army from 1964-1966.
Hermann was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church and was a leader in many local organizations including The Salvation Army and MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History.
As an avid lifelong stamp collector, Hermann amassed an outstanding collection of US taxpaid and other revenue stamps. He conducted meaningful research in the field and promoted the hobby on a national level.
Hermann is preceded in death by his parents John Lee Ivester and Margaret Des Jardin Ivester of Grady, Arkansas, and sister Mary Rider. He is survived by his wife Carolyn with whom he shared 62 years of marriage; sons John Alan Ivester (Angelica) and Greg Ivester (Tali), both of Little Rock; grandchildren John, Raley, James, and Veronica Ivester; sister Jane Townsend of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces Melanie Colvin, Hayley Roberson, and nephews James Townsend and Mark Rider.
A memorial service followed by a visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, 1:00 PM at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Rd, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223. A family graveside service will precede the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers donations in Hermann’s memory may be made to Fellowship Bible Church or The Salvation Army, Little Rock command.
