James Richard Contratto

on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock. He was born October 1, 1949

in McAlester, Oklahoma to the late Richard and Mary Lawson Contratto.

He was a graduate of Magnolia High School, held an Associate of Arts degree from SSC in Magnolia,

Arkansas, and a certificate from Delgado Technical Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a

member of the Magnolia Jaycees for 12 years and the Knights of Columbus for 25 years. He worked as

an HVAC Technician for a total 44 years (13 years at Forester’s South Arkansas Service and 31 years at

SASSCO). He was a Charter member of the NRA and was an avid hunter earning the Triple Trophy

Award more than ten times.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Trimble Contratto, a daughter and son-in-law, Christy

Contratto and Cruncher Gant, and two grandsons, Corbin and Carson Gant of Benton, Arkansas; his

sister Elaine Keith; three nephews Kelly, Korey, and Kasey Keith.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, April 5, 2024, with a Rosary at 6 pm at Pinecrest Funeral

Home & Memorial Park,7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, Arkansas 72022. A funeral mass will

be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 6, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 900 W Cross

Street in Benton, Arkansas.
