

James “Jim” Stafford Tyler, of Bald Knob, Arkansas, passed away on September 9, 2025 at the age of 88. A devoted family man, veteran, and community leader, Jim leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Ray and Lucille Tyler, and siblings Jerry Tyler and Eva Lou Rauls. He is survived by his children, Eric Tyler (Pam) and Brenda Qualls (Ronnie), and five grandchildren, Erica Connelly (Bryce), Payten Tyler (Leah), Spencer Qualls (Rebekah), Connor Qualls, and Elaine Qualls; sister, IlaRay Lankford (Mitchel).
Jim served 25 years in the Arkansas National Guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a passionate advocate for education, serving 15 years on the Bryant School Board, and was instrumental in launching the Bryant Pee Wee Basketball League. As the first president of Arkansas Girls AAU Basketball, his teams achieved state and national success, including a 1982 international tournament win in Sweden.
In later years, Jim owned Frankie’s Furniture in Bald Knob. He will be remembered for his strength, principles, and deep commitment to youth and community.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
