It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Frances Sammis White age 84, a beloved mother and grandmother on November 25, 2024. She was born on April 11, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois to the late Frank Edward Sammis and Leona Stiles Sammis. She was of Baptist faith.
Jane was a woman of quiet strength and great kindness. Her intelligence was evident to all and allowed her to skip 2nd grade and graduate high school a year early. She moved to Little Rock after graduation to pursue a career as a medical transcriptionist and met and married the love of her life, Ken White. They were happily married for 59 years.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved taking long, Sunday drives in the countryside. Her creative spirit shone through her love of crafting which was passed onto her daughters and grandchildren. She delighted in the hunt for unique antiques and vintage finds, always able to see the beauty in things with a story to tell.
Above all else, Jane, cherished her family. She lovingly raised her two daughters and became a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren. She had a gift for making everyone feel special, often through the meals she prepared with love-always knowing our favorites. Her steadfast companion, her dog, Mollie, brought her endless comfort and joy.
Her life was a testament to the beauty of kindness and devotion. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
