Jessie was a Deacon at Barnett Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. Jessie dedicated many years to caring for the church grounds. Jessie also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Jessie could often be found working in his favorite place, his shop. He worked as a forklift mechanic for over 50 years, owning his own business for the majority of that time. Jessie was a tinkerer, and would work on anything with wheels though his true passion was antique cars, he and his wife Linda enjoyed being a part of the Dixie Car Club and attending many parades and activities.
Above all else, Jessie loved his family. He and Linda started their lives together in Little Rock in the late 60's it was just the two of them at first. He was so proud of the large family they were able to create here. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He instilled in all of them a passion for helping those in need. Jessie would be the first person to help anyone, from having stranded travelers stay in his home, to fixing a flat tire, to going to the parts store to get them what they needed to be on their way. No matter the situation, before they parted, Jessie shared his story of salvation in an effort to lead them to Christ. In the later part of his life he shared his time with Ms. Helen, she filled a void in all of our lives and added joy and companionship to Jessie's.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Linda Gough; his parents and sisters, Sarah Hill and Mertle Larue.
