

She was of the catholic faith and she made sure to read her bible each and every day. Jo Anne enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle and bird watching. Most of all she loved to travel. Her late husband Donald E. Carpenter was in the service for 20 years both of them enjoyed their time traveling across the country. After his retirement, Jo Anne worked for an insurance agent and then ultimately retiring from the Arkansas Rehabilitation Services as an Administrative Assistant.
Jo Anne is survived by her loving child, Michael Carpenter and his wife Denise; grandchild, Samantha Clanton and her husband Shane; her granddaughter-in-law, Normy Carpenter; great grandchildren, Mason, Mackenzie, and Maddie Clanton, Cassie and Colton Carpenter; sister-in-law, Jean Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by, her husband of 38 years, Donald E. Carpenter; her parents, Clyde and Mary Hicks; daughter, Debbie Carpenter; grandson, Jason Carpenter; siblings, Bob Hicks and Linda Lanier.

A celebration of Jo Anne's Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 North Alexander, AR 72002. Visitation will be one hour prior beginning at 10:00a.m. A reception with family will be held in the banquet room following the Celebration of Life.
