I had the pleasure of being JoAnn’s friend and physical therapist over the last 3 years. What a wonderful woman to have known. I will fondly remember her memories of Arkansas, her joy in the simple things and love of Elvis listening to his music when we would exercise together. I am sad to hear of her passing and my thoughts are with her sweet Joan and the rest of the family.

Jo Ann was my precious mother in law for almost 25 years. I hear people complain about their in-laws and I don’t understand that because I had the best mother-in-law you could ever ask for. She was so kind and humble and fair and generous with her time and completely non-judgmental. She welcomed me into their family wholeheartedly and loved me I feel until she could no longer remember me. I can tell you that I love her still and I will never ever ever forget her. She was precious Granny Jo. My very deepest condolences to Dan, Joan, Don, and all of their children as well as my own three children.

JoAnn was my aunt, and I am so thankful for the relationship my family shared with her. She was the perfect combination of warmly sweet and wickedly funny. She made my children feel doted on and brought joy to every gathering. Her grace and dignity will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed. I am honored to be her niece. Prayers for the family left behind in grief; celebration for the family who welcomed her home. Abigail and Eric Smith and children Sadie, Jack, Polly, Maisie
