Joyce Marie Ewell Gore, 76, was called home to be with her Lord Jesus on March 15th 2019. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 31st, 1942 as the only child to Hoyt Clyde Ewell and Viona Mae Bland Ewell. Her early years were at her parents’ general store on west Rt 10 at Taylor Loop. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: Robby Gore Sr; who has only passed over on October 9th, 2018. She is survived by her three children: Robby Gore, Jr. (Mary) of Mabelvale, AR; Kerry Gore (Teresa) of Cabot, AR; and Judi Peters (Ron) of Lee’s Summit, MO; and her step-daughter, Barbie Henley (Roger) of Roland, AR; nine grandchildren: Shelly Wade Roberts, Michael Wade (Tiffanie), Scott Henley (Amber), Amber Crace (Zale), Coribrooke Pittard (Tim), Kara and Brandon Dykes, Chris Chambers and Jennifer Coffman; twenty-one great-grandchildren: Haley and Evan Roberts, Belle Wade, Juniper Roberts, Morgan Henley, CJ, Maddie Mae, and JT Chambers, Cameron Coffman, Jade Allen, Brody Allen, Brycen and Clara Dobbins, Skylar Hensley, Gabriel and Damien Crace, Adelaide, Joy and Zeke Pittard, and Charlie and Simon (deceased) Dykes.; her step-mother-in-law: Bertha Mae Gore; three brother-in-laws: Lloyd Gore (deceased- Catherine) of Little Rock, Tony Gore (Betty) of Grant, Alabama and Ronnie Gore (Betsy) of Newport, AR. She is also survived by her three beloved and inseparable childhood cousins: Judy, Jan, and Genevieve.
Joyce lived her dream of being a wife, mother, and homemaker in the “picture perfect, 1950s-style” of the American Dream. Attending Central High, Mount St.Mary’s, and the Little Rock Business School; she married Robby at the age of 17 and lived in the Little Rock-area all of her life. Joyce attended Central High in 1957; not knowing until later that her future husband was outside serving with the National Guard.
Joyce was a faithful member of the Church at Rock Creek: she always said that Sunday was her favorite day of the week because of getting to attend church with friends.
