Karen will be missed. I always liked her adventure stories.  She enjoyed Moscow as a favorite beautiful place to visit. Karen planned cruises with us even though she probably knew in her heart she might not make the trip. Since her husband Alan passed away on a cruise,  I think she wanted to pass on a cruise ship too. In the end, she joined Alan on October 28, 2025. He passed away on October 27, 2023.

Karen was a very real person.  We first met in Korea.  We had to pick up some tents from the Army at Camp Humphrey's.  We set up  the tents and settled in for a nice quiet evening.  Mother Nature had other plans.  Thunderstorm came in and the tents leaked.  We ran around with large garbage bags draping over our cots so we would stay dry.
She transferred to Yokota AFB Japan shortly after that.  She was doing my re-enlistment ceremony at a Dining In.  Great time.  
We went to Thailand together TDY.  She was the site commander.  She made sure we were all setup at our site.  We had a great time over there. She transferred to the states and I went to Guam.  We lost track of each other.  We found each other after I retired.  Alan and her stopped by several times on their way through.  Always fun.
I'll miss you dear friend.  Save a seat for me.

My dear cousin and fellow veteran.  She shed light on our extended family tree and helped a lot of us find out about each other and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be truly missed.  RIP Karen

I remember taking a road trip to visit Karen in Colorado Springs. She was the perfect hostess cooking us breakfast and visiting for hours  about old times when we were younger. She took on us on. a tour of the Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak and The Denver Mint. She loved retirement with her loving husband Alan and their special companion Chopin.
   I  loved her no nonsense attitude that hid a  very kind, compassionate, inner  nature. She was a very special friend  to me . She would always listen with genuine concern and often set me straight with good  old fashioned common sense. I went to visit her before her passing and we literally sat together and talked for a week for hours each day reminiscing about time together as kids. Karen was my family history expert and go to person to help fill in gaps on our family tree. We had made plans to travel to Hawaii together for my son’s Andrew’s wedding and in the summer to finally go on a back to back cruises to destinations on both of our bucket lists. Despite all of the health challenges, Karen never let go of that sense of adventure she always had to experience new people and place around the world. I do believe that sense of adventure is what led Karen to join the Air Force. She was a true patriot and loved her country dearly. I miss her  and will probably always miss her. I pray by the grace of God we will meet again in the glorious hereafter. I will miss her and pray  by the grace of God we will meet again .

My Aunt was full of life to the very end and she was up for just about anything. I will never forget the time that we spent together and how my family loved her so much. We will miss her terribly 😔
