Kay Frances Childs

Kay was born on April 18, 1941, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to John Neidecker and Allie Hurst Neidecker. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1959 and carried throughout her life the values of faith, family, and hard work that were instilled in her from an early age.

On a beautiful day in Pensacola, Florida, in 1981, Kay married the love of her life, Chris Childs. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Kay was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Natural Steps Baptist Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and grace she showed to everyone she met.

She found great joy in spending time with her family and loved traveling, camping, fishing, tending flowers, and watching birds. Whether gathered around a campsite, enjoying time on the water, or sharing stories with loved ones, Kay treasured every moment spent with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Allie Neidecker; and her brothers, Harold Neidecker, Leonard Neidecker, Clayton Neidecker, Johnny Neidecker, Therol Neidecker, Gene Neidecker, and Bobby Neidecker.

Kay leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Chris Childs; her sisters, Sandra Goodman and Wilda (Kelly) Ginn; her children, John Anderson, Jim (Paula) Anderson, and Jessica Anderson; seven grandchildren, Amber (Bill) Duerson, Brandy Fick, James (Jessica) Anderson, Johnny Anderson, Shelby Anderson, Cheyenne Rogers, and Abigail Harrill; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacie Childers, Hayden Childers, Bryson Duerson, Joshua Fick, Annsleigh Fick, Ella Anderson, and Jordan Anderson.

Kay’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, Arkansas 72002, on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Kay will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
