Larry Douglas Jordan, age 71, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on July 8, 2020. He was born June 4, 1949, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to William and Hazel Jordan. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Terry Jordan.
Larry graduated from Arkansas Senior High in 1967 were he was All State in football. He worked as a Major at the Arkansas Department of Correction as Chief of Security. Larry helped form the Texarkana Volunteer Fire Department and worked as Miller County Mounted Sheriff. Larry was a Navy Aviation Operator and Petty Officer 3rd Class. He earned the National Defense Medal and the and Navy Achievement Medal.
Larry was an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Kay Jordan of 14 years; his mother; two children, Chris Jordan (April) and Laura Green (Willie)); four stepchildren, Jeremy Martin (Heather), Corina Ramos (Oscar), April Harris (Robert), and Ginny Oswalt (Michael); two brothers, Bobby Jordan and David Jordan; and eleven grandchildren, including his granddaughter, Lillie Potter, which he helped raise.
Visitation will be Monday, July 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander.
