Leland (Lee) Eugene Sims, 79, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away on November 23, 2025. After a long and full life, he made his way back to the one he had been missing for years — his beloved Linda. We know that reunion was every bit as sweet, loud, and full of laughter as he always imagined.
Lee was born on April 18, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. He later spent over 30 years with Southwestern Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Sims, and his wife, Linda.
He is survived by his daughters Laurie Lampinen (Scott) and Angela Acox; his grandchildren Cody Acox (Brittany), Sarah Burchett (Michael), and Ryan Kaufman; and his great-grandchildren Ruby and Rose. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others who were touched by his gentle nature and sense of humor.
Lee lived with a kind heart and an easy smile. He loved a good road trip, catching up with old friends, and sharing laughs with his Cracker Barrel family in Bryant. They looked after him for more than 20 years, and his family is deeply grateful for the warmth and care they showed him.
The family would also like to thank the compassionate caregivers at Springhill Baptist and the extraordinary staff at Hospice Home Care for their kindness and support.
“The love you receive is equal to the love you give.”
And Lee gave plenty.
Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home, located at 7401 Highway 5 N, Alexander, Arkansas, on November 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 1, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
