For 30 years, Mark worked as a railroad engineer, a career that reflected his reliability and strength of character. Along the way, he built lasting friendships across Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri, connections formed through shared days of work and the simple, sincere way he treated people. His kind-hearted nature was not reserved for a select few; it was the way he moved through the world.
Away from work, Mark found joy in time spent traveling with his beloved, Denise. Whether enjoying fishing, trips to casinos, going to Florida, trips to the beach, or taking cruises together, he cherished the moments they shared, simple pleasures made meaningful by love, companionship, and the warmth he brought to everyday life.
Mark’s loving spirit was perhaps most clearly expressed in the way he cared for his children. He never let them doubt his love, and he spoke it often. In the tenderness of his final days, that same giving heart remained present. Some of his last words were to his son, Nathan: “Baby, do you need gas money?”, a small sentence that carried a lifetime of care, generosity, and steadfast love.
Mark will be deeply missed and gratefully remembered.
In lieu of traditional services, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life to honor Mark. Service details are currently pending.
