Martha Vann Lee Stanford of Bryant, Arkansas, age 85, passed away peacfullly on January 11, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born in Pepperell, Alabama, on January 26, 1935, to Olin Eugene Lee and Essie Clyde Freeman Lee, and she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Royce Allan Stanford, Sr., by her parents, and by her sister, Eugenia Lee DeLamar and brothers, Charles H. Lee and Joe H. Lee. Martha is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Lee of Dadeville, AL, her children, Royce Allan Stanford, Jr. (Cindy) of Bryant, Julia Lynn Stanford of Atlanta, GA, and Joe H. Stanford of Dallas, TX, her grandchildren, Jason Gornto (Lindsay), Mary Beth Stanford Picker (Casey), Allan Stanford, III (Lindsay), Jill Gornto Raymond (Donald), Bill Stanford (Mei-Lyn), Mihaela Stanford, her 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of other beloved relatives and dear friends. Martha was a sincere Christian, and she was devoted to her husband and family. Owing to corporate life, she and Royce lived many places in the United States. She had the wonderful gift of being able to make friends wherever she went. She was a beautiful and unique lady. We loved her deeply, and we will miss her. The Stanford family would like to express its profound gratitude to Mrs. Jojeana Allen of Bryant and to her family for their care for Royce and Martha the last few years as they struggled with Altzheimer’s Disease. We praise God for your ministry. A memorial service for Martha will be held at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 2pm. The service is to be livestreamed. A graveside service in Alabama will occur later. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to organizations supporting Altzheimer’s care or research. For more information please consult the church website or the website of Pinecrest Funeral Home in Bryant.
