My Last Battle
I fought my last battle as long as I could; I fought the way God said I Should.
Victory is in spirit; salvation is my prize so wipe away those tears from your weeping eyes. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, work or play. Things left undone must stay that way. I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, and these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow, the sun will shine much brighter tomorrow. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with too much grief. Lift your Hearts and Peace to thee; I fought my last battle-and Now I'm Free
