Melinda Frances Mayfield

Melinda Frances Mayfield, affectionately known as “Mindy”, 32, went to be with our Lord, hand in hand with her sweetheart, Brian “Buddy” Thomas . She found happiness with her warmhearted fiancé, Buddy, and together they shared a true love that brought joy and hope for the future. Their love will be remembered and the sweet life they were building side by side, leaving behind memories that will be cherished.

She was an adored daughter, fiancée, sister, aunt and friend to so many. She had a heart that was endlessly giving and a love for her family and friends that knew no bounds. She also had a special place in her heart for her sweet fur-babies, Spencer and Luna. Mindy had that rare and wonderful gift for making people she met and animals she saved alike feel loved, seen, and cared for.

Mindy was wonderfully funny, with a sense of humor that could brighten any room. She was also a gifted artist whose talent touched people's lives around the globe. The way she saw the world was beautiful and through her creations, others were blessed by its light.

Mindy was magic. She was a true Disney lover at heart and she carried that magic wherever she went. Through her kindness, her laughter, and the way she loved others so deeply. Mindy is a genuine princess. Truly beautiful inside and out, quick witted, and a heart full of love.

Mindy’s beautiful and selfless heart, her artistic spirit, her hilarious personality, and the happiness she brought into the lives of everyone blessed enough to know her will never be forgotten.

Mindy will forever be starlight. And like the stars that continue to shine long after their light first began its journey, Mindy’s light will never truly fade. It lives on in every life she touched, every heart she loved, and every treasured memory she leaves behind. She is truly a blessing that will have a home in our hearts evermore.

A funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of St. Andrew's on Saturday August 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM with a visitation and rosary starting at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas at 2:30 PM
