Randall Eugene Reed, 66, stepped into the arms of Jesus on September 6th, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Randy was born December 13, 1954 in Russellville, Arkansas to Bearl Eugene Reed, Jr. and Lucy Ila (Ware) Reed. Randy was the oldest of their two sons. He graduated from Dover High School in 1973, and retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department after 33 years of dedicated service.
Randy was a member of Millcreek Baptist Church where he served and worshiped faithfully for almost 30 years.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Lee Reed of Plainview, AR.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Susan Diane (Barkley) Reed of 46 years and daughter Carrie Barkley (Reed) Gifford, son-in-law Jeffrey Kyle Gifford and two grand-daughters, Emma and Laney Gifford, of Bigelow, Arkansas.
Randy was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about hunting and fishing from Arkansas to Alaska. He had an unrivaled appreciation and respect for nature and loved sharing his knowledge with others. An old-timer at heart, he was a craftsman of gunsmithing, reloading, knife making, woodworking, taxidermy, air-brush and oil painting, drawing, and gardening.
The world was not ready to lose this wonderful man. There were trips to take, critters to hunt, things to do and see, but we are so very thankful that we will see him again in Glory. His faith in Jesus has given us peace in his passing. We have full, 100% confidence that this is only a “see you later” to our beloved Wildman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock on the morning of Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Millcreek Baptist Church, 5837 Millcreek Road, Hot Springs, AR. The Interment service will take place at 2:30 that afternoon at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 2500 S. Knoxville Avenue, Russellville, AR under the direction of Pine Crest Memorial Park Funeral Home of Alexander, AR.
When indoors, the family requests that face coverings are worn.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Gifford, Jeff Thornton, Dale Hodges, Terry Johnson, Billy Amos, and Terry Bates.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Millcreek Baptist Church Van Ministry where Randy served passionately. His service to this ministry helped many local children experience the love and gospel of Jesus Christ each week.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pinecrestfh.com for the Reed family.
