Richard Allen Kraft, 75, of Benton passed away Sept. 3, 2023. He is survived by Karen Kraft, his wife of 54 years; one son, Kevin Kraft of Benton; one brother, David Kraft (Sylvia) of Bryant; three grandchildren - Chase Litwa (Robyn) of Maumelle, and Katelynn Madden (Nick) and Henley Kraft of Benton; two great-grandchildren, Sophie, and Reece; two nieces; and many friends.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1947, in Ionia, Mich. His parents – Perry H. and Helen M. Brannon Kraft – and two brothers – Phillip and Kenneth – preceded him in death.
After majoring in business at University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Richard spent more than 45 years at National Custom Hollow Metal Doors and Frames of Little Rock, retiring in 2014 as Architectural Hardware Consultant certified by The Door and Hardware Institute. Richard also served as administrator for customer estimating, fire label compliance, and manufacturing technical support. He was passionate about sharing his expertise regarding door hardware specifications and assisting others in developing their careers.
He and his wife loved to travel, and they were avid fans of a local mariachi band. A lifelong car enthusiast, Richard was often remembered for his bright red Chevy truck. He bowled and played golf, and enjoyed watching wrestling and other sports. His family will host a private celebration of life at his favorite restaurant, La Hacienda, in Benton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund or American Cancer Society. His final resting place will be at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock.
