Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on January 12, 1968, Robert lived a life defined by curiosity, creativity, and compassion. For 31 years, he dedicated himself to education, inspiring generations of students with his passion for geometry, his love of learning, and his deep belief in the power of knowledge.
Robert was a man of many interests. He found beauty in polyhedra, wonder in the universe of Star Trek, joy in music and comic books, and fascination in the delicate world of spiders. His enthusiasm for the things he loved was contagious, and he never passed up a chance to share them with others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Austin, with whom he shared over a decade of marriage after they wed on July 3, 2014. He was a devoted father to Stormy (Zack) and Malachi, and a proud grandfather to Carlise and Adrian. He also leaves behind his sister Annalea (Jeff), nieces Dylan and Sydney, nephew Nicholas and countless students and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and intellect. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mina Jo Marsh.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Arkansas. Robert's friends and family are invited to share stories at his memorial and to wear tie dye to honor him.
Robert will be remembered not only for what he taught in the classroom, but for the way he lived—with curiosity, compassion, and a unique spark that made the world around him more interesting, more thoughtful, and more joyful.
