Roger was born on June 9, 1949 to Arthur Glenn Jr. and Virginia (Vaughn) Glenn in Maryville, TN. On August 27, 1976, he married the love of his life, Lana Melton. The couple moved to Arkansas in 1987 and spent the next several years raising their four children. Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger had an unwavering faith in the Lord that he was unafraid to share with others. Nothing was more important than having his family in church. He took on the role of surrogate father and grandfather to many, and became affectionately known as “Papaw.” Roger enjoyed cheering on his Razorbacks and Cowboys. He also enjoyed bird watching and gardening. He worked as a truck driver for ABF and was a deacon at various churches for over 30 years. Roger won several awards including the Million Mile Safe Driver for ABF and was recognized as Father of the Year at Abundant Life A/G, where he was lovingly known as the “Candy Man”.
Survivors include Roger’s wife, Lana; four children, Jonathan Glenn (Florence) of Benton, AR; Christy Glenn of Alexander, AR; Amanda Williams (Scott) of Bryant, AR; Brian Glenn (Shelly) of Alexander, AR; and nine grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Emilee (Em), Mary, Tristan, Landon, Cameron, Aarron, and Kaylee.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; as well as two sisters, Mary Thompson and Myrna Perez.
