Shirley Janene Cox

Shirley Janene Cox, age 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1941, in De Witt, Arkansas to the late Woodrow and Kathleen McMillian. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her children, Freddie Cox and Michael Lynn Cox; as well as sister, Jean Fason.

Those left to cherish Shirley's memory include her daughters, Kathy Cox, Debbie (Randy) Watts, and Tonia Lawhon; grandchildren, Toshia (Jon) Smith, Leslie Pollard, Chance (Hannah), and Darren (Kasey); great-grandchildren, Tylan Dillion, Taylor (Austin) Starks, Riley Jo Lay, Raelyn Pollard, Emma Lawhon, Jaxson Lawhon, Waylin Lawhon, and Ace Lawhon; great-great-grandchild, Grady Starks; as well as a host of beloved cousins.

Shirley spent the majority of her working life as a hairstylist, a career that reflected her creative spirit and love for people. She also worked for a time at Teletype and Commercial Mail Services, both in Little Rock. Outside of work, she enjoyed cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, watching horse races, and expressing herself through crafts, painting, and crochet. More than anything, she treasured the moments spent with her family, who were the heart of her life.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
