

Steven Samuel Boteler, 71, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born on November 15, 1953, to the late Samuel R. Boteler and Stella L. Crocker, Steven was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown.
A proud graduate of Hall High School, Class of 1973, Steven went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While attending college, he worked at Remington Arms in Lonoke. After graduation, Steven joined KELC Radio Station in Lonoke, where he brought passion and energy to live broadcasts of football and basketball games.
Steven dedicated 30 years of his career to the American Red Cross, delivering blood for both routine and emergency needs across Arkansas. His commitment to serving patients in critical situations, often navigating treacherous conditions, earned him numerous awards and the respect of colleagues. His stories of these lifesaving journeys were a testament to his selflessness and courage.
A man of faith, Steven attended Tyler Street Baptist Church until its closure and was a current member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual strength.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Phil & Paul Boteler. Steven is survived by numerous first and second cousins as well as his dearest friend, Ms. Patty Rock, who brought joy and companionship to his life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Steven’s lifelong friend and Hall High schoolmate, Robert Henry, MD, his primary care physician, for his compassionate care; to BethAnn at Woodland Heights Senior Living Facility for her kindness; and to Arkansas Hospice for their support during his final days.
A visitation for Steven will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross in Steven’s memory.
Steven’s legacy of service, storytelling, and steadfast friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
