Thomas Myrick

Thomas was born and raised in North Little Rock, where he graduated from North Little Rock Old Main High School in 1955. On December 26, 1956, he married the love of his life, Mary Louise “Louise” McGarrity. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family.

Thomas was a pioneer in the medical field, becoming the first certified X-ray technician in the state of Arkansas. He worked at University Hospital and dedicated many years of his life to caring for and serving others through both the public and private sectors.

In 1955, Thomas joined the Arkansas National Guard, beginning a distinguished military career. He proudly served during the Central High School Desegregation Crisis in Little Rock and later completed two tours of duty in Iraq. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class, serving his country with courage, dedication, and honor.

Thomas was a man of strong faith and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he found meaning in serving others and caring for the people around him.

Above all, Thomas was devoted to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Marcy (Clay) Masters of Kearney, Missouri, and his son, Kevin (Cara) Myrick of North Little Rock, Arkansas, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory and legacy forward.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Louise “Louise” Myrick; daughter, Rita Holman; son, Vincent Paul Myrick; brother, James Myrick; and his parents, Alfred and Chloe Myrick.

Thomas will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family, his faith, his country, and his community, but also for the love, strength, and example he gave to those closest to him. His life was one of commitment, courage, and service, and the lessons he shared will remain with his family for generations to come.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the values he passed down, and the love he gave so freely.

Rest in peace, Thomas. Your life of service and love will never be forgotten.

A service will be held on September 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home with a visitation starting one hour prior at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
