Passionate! No word could better describe Tullio Jacuzzi, a man that had many loves and interest and was fully passionate about each one of them. From family and friends to animals and nature, Tullio loved them all.
Together with Clydia, “The love of his life!”, they brought nine wonderful children into this world. With the arrival of each one, Tullio’s pride only grew larger. With a stern hand and a gentle heart he taught them to show love, compassion and humility. He was a genuine role model to them all. He enjoyed nothing more than time spent with his family. Whether it meant working together in his immaculately landscaped yard, hunting with his sons, fishing with Clydia (or anyone else that wanted to go), watching kids and grandkids compete in sports, dance in recitals, sing in the choir, Tullio loved it all! Family gatherings were a definite favorite of his. Family and friends could often be found enjoying food from Tullio’s grill, relaxing in the pool or pond, and playing or fishing at “The Farm”.
Tullio spent over 40 years working for the Jacuzzi family business. All who worked for Tullio would agree that he expected excellence. A favorite saying of his, “Think: Why is there never enough time to do things right, but always enough time to do things over”, was prominently displayed in the many factories in which he worked.
Community service was another great passion of Tullio’s. “If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right” was the approach he used as a dedicated member of Kiwanis International, an organization in which he served as president, lieutenant governor and was credited with 60 years of perfect attendance.
Tullio, also, proudly served his country during World War II, building runways for the Army Corp of Engineers.
Tullio was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Clydia Lee Casey Jacuzzi; his daughter, Nancy Davenport; his grandson, Clay Colford; his parents; and three siblings, Rodolfo Jacuzzi, Olga Gall and Lola Fenolio. He is survived by one brother, Daniele Jacuzzi (Jean); his children, Linda Emery (Lynn), Richard Jacuzzi (Patti), Kathy Fluharty (Larry), Jim Jacuzzi (Marilyn), Jane Gavin (John), Andrew Jacuzzi (Shannon), Julie Housholder (Gary), and Robert Jacuzzi (Michelle). He was blessed to be called “Grandpa” by 17 grandchildren and “Great Grandpa” by 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tullio’s name to the Kiwanis Club of Pulaski Heights, P.O. Box 56007, Little Rock, Arkansas 72215.
As written by one of his Granddaughters the night he passed:
“Tullio Jacuzzi was a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, a World War II veteran, an incredible inventor and businessman, and a husband in an epic love story. He was a prankster (though he’d never admit it), a shameless flirt, a lover of Italian arias and fine wine, the original Mickey Mouse pancake maker, and a black coffee drinker (the one aspect of his being I’ll never understand). He was a world-traveler, a hilarious story-teller, king of ironic punchlines, the ultimate nature guide, a fearless, fair, and honest leader and a teacher. He cared about all people, and his deep, hearty laugh and big heart brought joy to all who had the honor of spending even five minutes with him. He was the person we all aspire to be. Tonight, my grandpa was finally reunited with his true love of 72 years, and his sister Lola, who preceded him in death by a mere 36 hours. Though all of us that he left behind will feel the sting of this shitty part of life, I know he’s finally at ease, smiling and holding my grandmother’s hand, gazing into some indescribable sunset, together. Until we meet again...” Hannah Jacuzzi
