

Valerie Lynn Skinner passed away on September 20th, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on January 21st, 1957, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Donnell and Freda Ruffer. She graduated from Wauseon High School in 1975. She had four sisters: Roberta Roose, Linda Cox, Annette Blissett, Sandy Howard, and one brother: John Ruffer. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Linda.
She followed in her father’s footsteps by enlisting in the US Air Force. She proudly served our great country from January 1977 to December 1982 and separated from the Air Force as a sergeant. She was stationed at Homestead AFB, Florida; Howard AFB, Panama Canal Zone; and Tyndall AFB, Florida.
She met the love of her life, David Paul Skinner, at Homestead AFB, and they were married on August 25th, 1977. They have two children, Cintrie (Michael) Morrow and Daniel (Misty) Skinner. She has 6 grandchildren: Devlyn Smith, Chloe Dickerson, Dewayne (DJ) Edwards, Brandon Morrow, Alina Stacey, and Ethan Stacey.
She accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and rededicated her life to Him in 1978 while stationed at Howard AFB, Panama Canal Zone. She was baptized in the Panama Canal by a missionary who served at the Christian Servicemen Center in Panama.
She was a sweet, loving soul who showed compassion and love to everyone she met. She loved her family and friends very much. She loved being a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, AR, and her wonderful Sunday School class. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, Arkansas on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM with a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM.
