

She was born on January 28, 1945, in Ola, AR, to Johnnie and Lora (Eldridge) Lewis, Sr. Sue graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1963 and married the love of her life, James (Jim) Henderson, on May 6, 1966. They shared 54 years of marriage and centered their life together on family and faith.
Sue was the nineth child out of a family of ten children. She wrote a fascinating self-published book describing her life and times while growing up in the mid-1900’s. She was a caring, loving woman who faithfully kept in touch with all her family, exchanging letters weekly with her parents and making lots of phone calls to check in on others, as well as taking several adventurous trips out to California and Texas to visit siblings.
She was woman of deep faith and was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and a longtime former member of Temple Baptist Church.
Sue worked most of her professional career in the mortgage loan and finance department in the banking industry. She took great pride in her home, loved reading her bible, cross-stitching and doing word search puzzles.
Sue will be remembered for her strong faith and the love she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Head and husband Donny; her granddaughter, Nicole Anderson; grandson, Brandon and wife Jordin; great-grandchildren Lilianna, Riggs, Trooper and Annie; brother, Jimmy and wife Laura; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Henderson; her parents Johnnie and Lora Lewis, Sr.; sisters’ Carolyn Rowe, Marie Caldwell, Nina Boswell and Leona Dobbs; brothers’ Johnnie Lewis, Jr., Eugene Lewis, James Lewis, and Edward Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Allan Lewis, Brandon Head, Chad King, Donny Head, Jerry Allen, and Marcus Declerk.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home with a visitation being held one hour prior at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
