Willard “Mac” Clem, 81, of Mabelvale, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on March 29, 1944, in Little Rock. He was raised in North Little Rock & attended church at Grace Baptist where he was Baptized on April 24, 1960 at the age of 16. He attended North Little Rock High School where he first served as Secretary, then President of the Future Tradesman of America, Chapter No. 6. While in High School, he won multiple awards with the Arkansas Industrial Education Association & the Future Tradesman of Arkansas, where he was named Trade Student of the Year his senior year. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1962. He went to work at Arkansas Tool & Die, Inc. where he completed his Tool & Die Making & Machine Shop Apprenticeships. In March of 1972, he began his career at Timex, Corporation, where he worked as a Tool & Die Maker until his retirement with the closing of the Little Rock Manufacturing Plant in 2000. He never passed up the opportunity to work overtime & even after retirement from Timex, he stayed busy by working for Adam’s Pest Control for a couple years, before retireing completely in 2002.
Mac married the love of his life, Wanda “Ann” Brazil on April 4, 1964. They made their home in Southwest Little Rock before retiring to The Sardis Community in Saline County in 2000. Their property became their oasis, full of beautiful fruit trees, his favorite Dogwoods, many flowering plants & a great garden. He often photographed his plants in full bloom with beautiful butterflies in the photos, beautiful fall foliage & peaceful snowfalls, as well. He loved all of nature and enjoyed being out in it as much as possible, especially when he could share it with family. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved all hunting & fishing. He was extremely good at blowing duck calls, handing down those skills to his son-in-law, grandsons & others over the years, & was quite a craftsman. He loved wood working & metal work, perfecting handmade duck calls & windchimes. Mac had a beautiful voice & great ear for music. He loved to sing in the choir in his younger years & was always whistling. He thoroughly enjoyed getting to know local veterans and visiting with them at the Senior Center in Bryant. He loved history & learning about their experiences. He often made visits to their homes as well, to help with small projects and yard work.
Mac & Ann joined Sardis United Methodist Church in 2000, making wonderful friends there. He was a faithful member of the Sardis United Methodist Men and was instrumental in setting up & maintaining the Sardis Community Garden. He attended the “In His Service” older adult Sunday School class & the TNT “Tried & True” Senior Citizens Group. Mac was always volunteering for any & every project that he could.
Mac loved attending all of his girls’ activities growing up, from dance recitals to cheer competitions, softball games to drill team performances, pageants, choir concerts & every ballgame where they were performing. This continued with all of his grandchildren’s activities, traveling all over to attend baseball games, cheer competitions, award ceremonies, field trips, art shows and recitals. He adored his children, grandchildren & great-grandson & was involved in everything they did.
Mac was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn F. Harris & step-father, Kenneth H. Harris, his father, Doyne T. Clem & step-mother Geraldine Clem, his brother Doyne C. Clem & grand-daughter, Brooklynne Anne Titsworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Wanda “Ann” Clem, his daughters, Karen L. Knight (Blake), & Carrie A. Schoultz (Michael), brothers, Richard H. Clem, Kenneth H. Harris, Jr, & Jeff Clem, sisters, Eris F. Canady (Steve) & Lark M. Scheutz, brother-in-law & sister-in-law C.Randy & Donna J. Grable, sister-in-law V. Joyce Collier, his grandchildren, Blaine A. Knight (Rachel), Braden S. Knight, Zoie G. Oulch (Sawyer), Kohler M. Schoultz, Annzlee H. Schoultz, great-grandson, W. Boone Knight & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & life-long friends.
Services will be on Thursday, June 26th at Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the chapel at 11:00am, followed by the celebration of life service at 12:00pm. The graveside service will follow at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Arkansas Game Wardens Association, to assist in their support of education, youth and wildlife conservation.
