Willie Frank Laster was born on December 31, 1917, and went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2026. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Robert E. Laster of Eagle Mills, AR and Georgia E. Banks of Fordyce, AR, and he was the second of six children born to them. He was 108 years old when he passed. He attended Dunbar High School in 1937, and he also attended Philander Smith College.
In 1940 he married Freddie Newsom and this union was blessed with five children - two sons and three daughters. Sons: William E. Laster and Fred E. Laster. Daughters: Delores J. Laster, Barbara A. Laster, and Cynthia F. Laster.
He was always a conscientious worker in everything he did. During WWII he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad keeping the steam locomotives operable for military purposes during the war and as a result he was given a military deferment. And in 1948 he started working as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retiring after 37 years of service.
He was a jovial, positive God fearing, loving man who will be missed.
