Alfred Edward Becker, USN (Ret.), was born in East Aurora, NY on December 11, 1942, son of the late Alfred and Edica Becker and passed away at home in Lorton, VA on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Mercer Becker; sons, Britt Becker and wife, Tonya, of Staunton, VA and Adam Becker and wife, Jennifer Bitar, of Kansas City, KS and Indianapolis, IN; step daughters, Dana Haddock and husband, Larry, of Shelton, WA and Gina Salter and husband, Phil, of Beaumont, TX; step son, Michael Mercer and wife, Terri, of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Alec Becker, Zac Becker, Madison Becker, Olivia Ashworth, Max Becker and Blake Sophie Bitar-Becker; and step grandchildren, Harrison Salter and Melly Mercer.
CAPT. Becker is a graduate of the University at Buffalo, the University of Wisconsin, The National War College and the National Defense University. He had a distinguished naval career of 29 years in service to his country including 2 years with Special Ops in Vietnam.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA. The service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Demaine followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery.
