

Passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the age of 90 at the Capital Caring Hospice Center in Arlington after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Betty was born on September 3, 1924 in Morgantown, WV. After graduating from Point Marion High School, Pennsylvania, she moved to Washington DC to work at the Post Office. She met her future husband, CDR John F. Paolantonio, at the United States Naval Academy, and they were happily married for nearly 48 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1993. Betty was the loving mother of four sons and one daughter. John P., Lawrence P., David A., Albert L., and Lisa L., (Dr. Christopher Beiner) all of the metropolitan area. She also was the proud grandmother of Michael (Tina), Andrew, and Toni and great-grandmother of Christian, Trevor, and Ethan. In addition to raising her five children, Betty worked many years at Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency in Old Town Alexandria.
After her husband's death, Betty moved to Williamsburg with her dear companion Robert L. Hagan who predeceased her earlier in 2014. For the last 5 years, Betty was lovingly cared for at the Mt Vernon Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Alexandria.
Visitation to be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria on Monday, January 5 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral service to follow Tuesday, January 6 11 a.m. at Mt Vernon United Methodist Church, 2006 Belleview Blvd., Alexandria.
