
Brendan Thomas Burke, beloved son, brother and uncle, died on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Norfolk, Virginia. Born in Augusta, Georgia, he was a resident of Alexandria, Virginia before moving to Norfolk. He is predeceased by his father, Thomas Burke and brother, Alex Burke. Brendan is survived by his mother, Sharon Burke, three sisters Rosemary Taylor, Heather Burke and Kerry Shultz. He is also survived by three nieces who loved him very much.
Brendan grew up in Northern Virginia and enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after graduating from high school. He spent the majority of his time in service at the Naval base in Holy Loch, Scotland engaged in submarine maintenance and repair. After discharge, he achieved career success in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries as a Validation Engineer and Technical Services Manager. Brendan was a brilliant engineer and could fix just about anything. He loved all kinds of music, corvettes and riding his motorcycle.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
