It's hard to believe that Charlie is gone.  My brother, John, and I have known him since he was nine years old.  We used to play together in Greensburg, Indiana, where Charlie and his brother, Bill, spent many summers.  He was a gregarious, outgoing and funny guy.  We shared many laughs together, some at his expense and some at ours.  Have a nice Cabernet Sauvignon and rest well, old buddy.

I believe Life cannot be fully experienced without relationships
We have all developed relationships
People come into our lives, dwell awhile, then we and go our separate ways
Some become close, some become distant
Some become friends, some become lovers, some become enemies
So where does Charlie Cox fit into all this? 
Our answers would differ - due to our individual experiences with him
But I believe Charlie had attributes of which we all agree
Charlie was stoic in his adversity
Accepting in his inconvenience
Joyful in his pain
Close your eyes and think of Charlie's face.  He's smiling isn't he?
To so many people Charlie was a close friend, an inspiration, an example of how to think and act in adversity
We all miss you Charlie
From my humble perspective, I miss the sailboat rides, smoking cigars on your deck, watching old movies, and sipping Susan's scotch while you nursed your Arnold Palmers
Goodbye my friend, the world is a better place because of you.

Charlie was a larger than life figure in a number of ways.  His reach and the way touched people, both personally and professionally, spanned decades.  The community will miss him.

Seeing his relatives was very important to Charlie. He very much enjoyed being together. Ever since we first met with Charlie we loved him dearly. We will cherish our memories of his charm, our conversations and his ever present wit. Hopefully Susan will find comfort in the love of family and friends to carry her through the near future without her loved one.

Charlie selflessly and discreetly assisted his colleagues as a volunteer for Lawyers Helping Lawyers.  

Broad smile, dignified bearing--easily spotted in a crowded room. You did not leave without saying hello, receiving your firm handshake, and catching up. A fine man.

Upon meeting you, over three decades ago, I knew that my cousin has met her perfect match. Stephanie still talks about how you, Susan, and the dogs visited us. The laughter watching all four dogs, yours and ours, run up and down the stairs was a clasic. You will be missed, but never forgotten

A fine man, Charlie will be much missed.  I hope that Susan will continue to come to our home each Fall, as she and Charlie have done for many years.  Charlie will appreciate that the dogs are also welcome.
