Connie was my husband, Jack Larned’s best friend. They went to Syracuse U together, played SU basketball together and Connie was in our 12/22/56 wedding.  Long after Jack passed, Connie would phone me and we’d remember everything.  I miss him still.

In 1956 Connie was a groomsman in my wedding when I married Jack Larned.  Connie & Jack had been close friends ever since high school basketball and continued thru four years at Syracuse U.  The friendship then continued with visits from Connie and Ted Rinehart at our Conesus Lake cottage and then at Connie and Meryl’s home in Alexandria, VA.  Their mutual love for basketball brought about a HS team reunion in Schenectady many years later.  After my Jack died in 1998, Connie and I kept up the friendship with calls a couple times a year.  Recently In 2019 I realized he wasn’t as well as he had been, but never realized he had passed until I started searching obits a couple of weeks ago.  My sympathies to all of his family.  I am so sorry…

In 1970, Connie was my first Deputy  Branch Chief in EURB/WGD/IEG/NPIC.  Although he did some important professional work before and after that, and we worked together often on different assignments, my favorite memory of him was when he turned in the doorway of our small two-section branch office and set fire to the shoulder pads of our much-shorter Branch Chief with his foot-long cigar that was never far from his mouth, ever.   That and lotsa good advice for many years afterward will be a very small part of his legacy.   Thanks for all the memories Connie.     -d

Connie and Meryl lived next door to us on Taft Road in Camp Springs, MD. We were truly neighbors--sharing parties, maintenance of our homes and I was a Jr. bridesmaid in their wedding--photo perhaps around 1968.
Connie was a kind, smart, loving gentle man. RIP

Connie was a good friend and coworker of my Dad (Earl). 
my parents loved him dearly. My Mom and our family send our deepest condolences  to Connie's family.
