Dan was a great shipmate on the USCGC Rockaway. We had a lot of laughs and rough seas enjoying our time serving together. Have great memories from the 1963 USCG Academy Cadet Cruise to the eight ports in Europe. Feel so sad to realize now we were a few miles from each other over the past years without knowing it.

Dan was one of the most unique people when it came to creating humor and telling good stories. But the most interesting part of his character was capturing a room with his diverse entertainment skills. He was just a natural with people, I enjoyed those moments.

We will miss Danny and all the wit, wisdom, fishing and hunting tales, and his humor at all the Blockus gatherings. Rest in peace cousin.
