Denise was born in Athens, Greece where she met her husband, Andreas Kyriacou. After marrying, Andreas and Denise moved to the United States. Denise was proud of the fact that she learned English within six months and shortly thereafter became a U.S. citizen. Andreas and Denise became parents and raised seven children along with the help of Denise’s beloved mother, Ekaterina, all while she was working with Navy payroll and helping Andreas own and manage several Alexandria restaurants: The White Ship, the Hollywood, and the Alexion.
Upon the passing of her husband in 1979, Denise temporarily relocated to Greece with her youngest children and obtained a communications position with the U.S. Navy in Nea Makri, then as an administrative assistant in the USAF Office of Special Investigations.
In 1991, Denise returned to Alexandria, VA with her children and continued her career with the U.S. Government at Bolling AFB, eventually retiring in 1996 after a rewarding career. She then enjoyed her retirement while operating her Breakfast Club, running a Taxi and after school day-care for her grandchildren and attending church sponsored activities (Bingo).
Denise, predeceased by one child Cyrus, is survived by six children: Catherine (Norman) Bradford, George (Dorinda), Andronique (Kelly), Helen (John) Rainey, Gus (Dean), Maria (Deborah), and eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Chanler, Andrew, Chase, Gregory, Catherine, Peter & Sophia.
