

Bakos, Dennis , (age 71) of Alexandria, Virginia. Born in Owosso, Michigan, went Home to be with the Lord and Savior on June 8, 2015. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from government service after serving our country for over 33 years. He loved football, golf, fishing and travel. Most of all he loved people. He showed his family the world. He and his wife spent the last twenty years traveling to places most have never heard of – it was always an adventure. He lived life to the fullest and never met an obstacle or a stranger along the way. He died peacefully by simply closing his eyes and going to sleep. He was preceded in death by his loving father, John Bakos. Survivors include his wife of almost 19 years, Theresa Nicholas Bakos; mother, Irene Bakos, brothers, Jack Bakos, Donald Bakos, Allen Bakos, Steve Bakos, Bob Bakos and sister Renee Bakos; children Lisa Emmons (Jim), John Bakos (Angie), Laurie Jakober (Mike) and Paul Bakos and their mother Dorothy Crout (Al); stepchildren Nancy Mercer (David), Jenny Maginnis (John), Andrew Nicholas (Veronica); and 19 grandchildren Janice (Blake), Theresa (Sean), Michael, Travis (Camilla), Kevin, Greg, Reuben, Ben, Sarah, Dawson, Bailey, Amanda, Emily, Jackie, Max, Ava and Jackson; and great-grandchildren Anthony and Elise.
Friends may call at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, Virginia on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from2-4 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 310 S. Royal St., Alexandria, VA at 1:30 pm with his brother-in-law Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, of Louisville, KY, officiating.
