OBITUARY

Eduardo Visaya

June 7, 1955July 7, 2019

On Sunday, July 7th, 2019, Eduardo Perez Visaya Jr. passed away at the age of 64. Ed was born on June 7, 1955 in Manila, Philippines to Eduardo Visaya Sr. and Lourdes Perez. Ed loved music. He played the guitar, sang beautifully and enjoyed listening to The Beatles. He also loved sports, mainly basketball, as he was a former NCAA player in the Philippines. He was most passionate about God and his family. He held Christ close to his heart until his death, never once doubting his faith. He was known by all for being selfless, patient, compassionate and kind, and also had a goofy sense of humor. He was loved by all who met him, and would bring smiles to the faces of those who did. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother and brother, Mike and sister, Chary. He is survived by his wife Cristina, and their son, Edson and step-son, Paul Qui and mother-in-law, Ofelia Cruz. In addition, he is survived by brothers Tony and Tito and sister Cecile and Marietta and sister-in-law Tessie Ting (with husband Ernie Ting). He will be greatly missed by all including his many nephews and nieces and god children and his innumerable friends and colleagues. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Raymond of Penafort in Springfield, Virginia at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of his life at the church hall.

We were neighbors when our kids were younger. We always enjoyed and felt comfort in being in Ed’s — and Tina’s — company and were very sad when they moved away. They may have moved away but are always in our hearts — as are the fond everyday memories we will always have of Ed and his beautiful spirit.
