Edward Dowdle passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, and three daughters, Clare Dowdle, Trish Gulseth, and Mary Kate Taylor. His first wife, Mary Alice Dowdle, daughter, Ann Dowdle, and son, Michael Dowdle, predeceased him. He has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1931 to Josephine and Edward Dowdle and grew up with his sister, Phyllis, with whom he remained close until her death in 2004. He was an Army veteran. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin and worked for General Electric and Timex. He lived much of his life in Fairfield, Connecticut where he will be buried at a later date. An avid golfer into his eighties, Ed had a sharp wit and read multiple newspapers a day. He will be missed.
